| 1st Garuda Bali International Marathon November 9 th, 2008 The BALI INTERNATIONAL MARATHON being organized in cooperation with Indonesia's Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Bali Provincial Government, Bali Tourism Board, Indonesian Athletic Association, KONI and Bali Sports Committee. In essence, the event is an off-shoot program of the annual Nitto Bali Marathon held from 1994 to 2002 wherein runners from all walks of life have joined and spicing it as the biggest international marathon event in the region. This year's marathon event is scheduled on 09 November 2008, Sunday, 6:00 A.M. at Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia and offers Half Marathon (21.0975KM), 10K and 5K with several categories. The Organizing Committee has planned it to become an annual marathon event with the aim of offering full 42KM Marathon by next year and reverting to its original schedule of every 3 rd Sunday of October for its succeeding stages starting 2009. The Organizers have also applied for recognition with the Association of International Marathons (AIMS) with the view of becoming a distinguished annual marathon event at par with other international marathon events in the Asia-Pacific Region. | Adhyaksa Dault SH, MSI | Minister's Message | Running is the basic form of fitness and exercise which any person should endeavor in order to be healthy and at tuned with good life.
