[bali-bali] (unknown)

About EBASE

Our Vision

The East Bay Alliance for a Sustainable Economy advances economic and social justice by building power and raising standards for working families.

Despite the prosperity of our region, there is a growing crisis for working families in the East Bay. Even many full-time workers in the region cannot afford the bare necessities of life—housing, food, and health care.

EBASE envisions an economy that works for working people. In our vision, all workers—from nurses to teachers to janitors, housekeepers and grocery clerks—earn enough to live in dignity. All work is valued, and all workers enjoy respect and a voice on the job. Prosperity and economic opportunity are broadly shared, and economic growth creates family-supporting jobs. Working families and communities have a voice in the decisions that affect their lives, and the capacity to hold corporate and government decision makers accountable.

EBASE is leading the charge to transform this vision into reality in the East Bay. We're building a movement to end working poverty, using a unique combination of research, coalition building, policy advocacy, and leadership development.

From Richmond to Oakland to Fremont, we forge powerful alliances of unions, communities and faith institutions. Together, we win smart policies that raise workplace standards for low-wage workers. Our successful campaigns have improved lives of low-wage working families and empowered residents to organize for economic justice in their communities. Our work is reshaping the regional economy.

EBASE is a non-partisan 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
