We are pleased to announce that the Investment Climate Capacity Enhancement
Team
of WBI is launching its Global Core Course: "Effective Regulatory Reform:
Why,
What and How?", to be held from March 9-13, 2009, in Washington DC, USA. The
course will be taught by international experts and practitioners, and World
Bank
staff, who will share their knowledge and experience on the key elements of
a
successful regulatory reform program.
Course Objectives:
This course aims to deepen participants? understanding of the key elements
of
successful regulatory reform strategies, approaches, tools and technique, in
order enable them to better advise on the most appropriate reform programs
within their respective country environments, and better manage and
implement
the reform process.

* Why is Regulatory Reform Important: Measurement, Indicators and Results
* Regulatory Reform: Strategies and Approaches
* Tools to Improve the Stock of Regulation
* Tools to Improve the Flow of Regulation
* Tools to Improve the Implementation of Regulation
* Regulatory Reform: Capacity and Institutions
Target Audience:
The course targets senior practitioners in charge of designing and
implementing
regulatory reform in governments, and policy advisors and researchers, but
will
also benefit donor staff working on regulatory reform issues,
representatives of
business associations, and private sector practitioners working on
regulatory
reform issues.
