what can anybody or goup do ?
its bound to be hapen , and it will hapen.
Put yourself in their shoes for a while , the villager can't survived from the land alone with all the price these days.
Do your number , for 20-30 are rice field /each you'll get under 1 million rps , and it has to last for 3 months , until the next crops.
Can we survived with 1 million rps for 3 months these days?
300.000 rps for groceries , petrol , school fee , medical,ritual , banjar. etc etc../month.
don't get me wrong , iam concervationist , everytime i have spare money ,i bought a block in Bali , here and there.
As far as i can see , that's the only way to save it , as i said last year.
The villager too, trying to catch up with the Joneses , honda bebek Mio
nice tile house , the kids mobile phone , computer etc..
What else can they do to be able to achieve that dream ? SELL....
What more , the developer might promise them a job in that hotel for their sons and daughters.
Who are we to deny them that opportunity ?
Are we going to support them ? NO
Are we going to buy them that hoda bebek Mio? NO
Are we going to give their sons and daughters a job? NO
The only way out is to buy their land , and let them bank the money,
so they can live from the interest and let them work the land.
We can not deny them their dream , as stupid as it may sound , it's still their dream , we just have to "put up" or "shut up".
shanti ,hope and dream keep us alive.
