| GEMPITA GIANYAR 2008 "ROMANCING NATURE IN PARADISE" 14 – 16 NOVEMBER 2008
Gempita Gianyar – the art, culture and environment festival which had became the landmark of the raise of Gianyar and Bali tourism – will be held this year on the upcoming 14 – 16 November 2008, as in the mutual cooperation between Gianyar Resident Government and Sekar Saji Nusantara Foundation.
The festival is not only aiming to preserve Bali natural culture and to promote Gianyar as art centre of Bali, but also to attract world's attention. The artwork masterpiece that includes art, culture and environmental conservation is drawing the attention to the pure art and culture of Bali by presenting the theme "Romancing Nature in Paradise".
The celebration will be integrated in three event series;
- The Celebration of Bali Tenun Fashion show designed by Thomas Sigar, Tjok Abi and accecories by K-Mo [from France], involving more than 50 models with Inet Leimena as the show director. Art and culture discussion with theme "The Future of Bali Tenun Songket and Representing Bali Tenun" discussion will be held prior to the fashion gala.
- The Celebration of Bali Culture Traditional Bali dance and music art performance with theme "Embrace Exotic Culture" with Cak Rina – the legendary Balinese dancer – with Jay Subyakto as art director who assembles all Balinese artists and components.
- The Celebration of Bali Natural Environment An eco-gathering as the apprehension towards global warming phenomenon; "Make Bali A Green Paradise" is the completion of Bali natural environment restoration by the release of 'tukik' – sea turtle cub / newborn and the plant of coconut and camplung trees.
We are inviting media participation to become the spectator of Bali everlasting art, culture and creativity that makes Bali the most gleaming pearl in the archipelago.
